Business Profile

Take a Head Chef who’s worked in the farming industry for years, add a real passion for food, give him his own restaurant with some of the UK’s best ingredients just down the road and you know you’re in for a treat without breaking the bank.

We think Great British food is…. well, great. So we take traditional dishes, source all the ingredients and then add a few special touches. Whether you’re looking for restaurants in Preston or restaurants in Lancaster you’ll find something great here at Whinney Brow.

"“brilliant”"

"We've eaten here three times now, and not been disappointed. The food is always of good quality, and the menu changes so the customer doesn't get bored. The waiter is attentive without being obtrusive and the pace is relaxed. Altogether a brilliant eating experience. Long may it continue"

"“Great flavours, THE taste sensation of Lancaster!”"

"A HUGE thank you to the Whinney Brow Eating House for one of the best meals I've eaten in .. well I can't remember so it must have been good! I had the Mackerel pate to start, the Lamb Henry for main and brownies for dessert. All couldn't have been better, perfection on a plate! The atmosphere was just right,..."

"“PERFECT HIDDEN GEM -DONT DRIVE PAST.”"

"We called for lunch yesterday. We were pleasantly surprised, the décor etc. was modern yet chic.
It wasn't busy, but we didn't mind that, as it is off the beaten track a little. We had the homemade cheese and onion pie, with Homemade chips. With a touch of salad, which had a superb dressing (again made by the Chef).I had the Pear cider, whilst my Husband had the Apple Cider-both delicious. I then had the Sticky Toffee Pudding(loads of sauce) and Ice-Cream. My Husband had the Chocolate Brownie, with fresh rasberries and chocolate ice-cream. Both delicious.
We completed our lunch with a pot of tea for me and a Black coffee for Hubby. He is a Coffee freak-grinds his own beans etc, so he thought the coffee was disappointing, seemed to have been brewed a long time, wasn't fresh. But my tea was perfect.
We had a chat to Stewart the Chef, before we left, and wished him luck. They deserve to do well, excellent food, friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere."
